The SCI, Marasmius Callas, had willingly had a Borg-like probe surgically inserted into his own body in an attempt to discover the whereabouts of the being that had kidnapped his daughter. As a result he could detect the ship that the "bad guy" was using and he, Aravek, and P'Trell discovered that it was somehow physically inside the FEARLESS. Anne Jorgensdatter, never one to hide, set out to see for herself what was going on in the indicated shuttlebay. [This post was the transition from my main PC being the CEO Gregor Wight to the CO Anne Jorgensdatter.]

I'd had this funny idea running through my head for a while, that of the Captain saying something about 'not wanting the Borg running around on the ship' at the exact same time that Borg-esque entities are doing just that. And with someone having written about the dead Norung teenager, Timur, laying in the morgue with a Borg tendril making its presence known, and Marasmius Callas, the SCI officer, having a pseudo-Borg implant about to be plugged into his head...this seemed like the perfect time.

This is more or less the second of a two-parter between the Lady Founder and the Mad Scientist. Voatch, the bad guy, just had his ship blown up by the Dominion, under the Lady Founder's control. So he's understandably miffed.
